The Dayton Village Citizens’ Coalition and South Brunswick Garden Club will hold a gardening workshop on Feb. 7 at the South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction.
The theme will be “Promoting Health and Arts through Gardening.”
The event begins at 1:15 p.m., with a welcome from Terry Caruso, president of Dayton Village Citizens Coalition. At 1:30 p.m., Maryanne Mcmillan, registered horticultural therapist, will explain how horticultural therapy improves lives. Following at 2:05 p.m., a South Brunswick Senior Center community gardener will talk about the gardens there and why gardening is good for seniors. Also on the agenda are talks about artistry in gardening and Farmers Against Hunger. At 3:45 p.m. there will be door prizes and the Seed and Catalog Exchange.
Bring a non-perishable food item for the South Brunswick Food Pantry. You may also bring a plant container, gardening catalogs, seeds, plants and gardening tools to share and/or exchange.
