A 48-year-old woman was abducted as she walked north on Witherspoon Street near Green Street shortly around 9:45 p.m. Jan. 22, according to the Princeton Police Department.
A man, described as a Hispanic male in his 40s, approached her from behind and struck her, police said. He took her to a house at 20 Green Street, where the assault continued before she was able to escape by jumping from a window, police said.
Police responded, along with the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad. The woman was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment of multiple injuries, police said.
Mayor Liz Lempert said Monday that police have been talking to neighbors as part of their investigation into what see termed an “awful” crime.
“We’re going to do everything we can to find that person,” she said of the suspect.
Witnesses or anyone with information on the incident should call the Princeton Police Department’s Detective Bureau at 609-921-2100.
