Harry Sassaman has joined the board of trustees of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation in Holmdel.
Sassaman, of South River, has been a friend of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation for years, supporting the Salute to Patriotism Gala and the Huey restoration project.
“The board and staff of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation are very pleased to welcome Harry Sassaman as a trustee,” said Bill Linderman, executive director of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial. “Harry has been an avid supporter of the foundation and he has a strong affiliation with the United States military.”
Sassaman has spent 28 years Forest Electric Corp. in Edison, beginning as a consultant and working his way through the ranks of general manager and executive vice president before becoming president. He was responsible for rebuilding the New Jersey operation and helping establish Forest Electrical Corporation as one of New Jersey’s premiere electrical and communications contractors.
“I’m extremely happy to be involved with such a dynamic and worthy association as the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation,” Sassaman said.
Sassaman holds a degree in electrical engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is the former president and governor of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and still serves as the vice president and sits on several NECA committees.
