RED BANK — Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, will present the U.S. premiere of Bárbara Colio’s play, “Ropes,” from Feb. 20 through March 20 at 21 Bridge Ave., Red Bank. Opening night is 8 p.m. Feb. 26.
Translated by Maria Alexandria Beech and directed by Lisa Rothe, the play is about three brothers who rendezvous at an airport to meet their father who abandoned them as children. The story explores the themes of forgiveness, love and loss.
As part of Two River’s ongoing Nosotros series, a Spanish performance of “Ropes” will be presented at 3 p.m. March 5. Complimentary childcare will be offered under the supervision of bilingual teaching artists in the theater’s lobby during the performance. Childcare will also be available for the pre-show talk and post-play discussion with cast members, all conducted in Spanish. Tickets for this performance are $20.
