The fifth annual South Brunswick High School (SBHS) Viking Closet’s “Sisterhood of the Traveling Prom Dress” event will be held through Feb. 11 at the high school, 750 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction.
The Closet is a student/staff -managed free store within the high school that collects and distributes donated clothing and accessories. Donations of gently used prom/semi-formal dresses, shoes, jewelry, purses, and other prom-related attire and accessories can be dropped off at the school from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, not including holidays or half days, in a donation bin located in the main entrance of the high school near the reception desk.
Any high school student, grades 9-12, is eligible for a free dress by showing their school ID on Feb. 20. There will also be free henna tattoos, free make-up and hair, photo booth, movies, guest singers and raffles.
Monetary donations for decorations, gift cards to beauty salons and nail salons for the free raffle, gift certificates to restaurants to help feed volunteers and goodie bag items are needed as well.
