Christine Barcia
William (Bob) R. Walters of Belle Isle, Florida, passed away on Jan. 29.
Bob moved to Orlando with his family in November 1979 from Mayport, Florida, after retiring from the Navy as a chief petty officer. Bob served in the Navy for 26 years.
After retirement, he was employed at Walt Disney World from January 1980 until he retired Nov. 1, 2005. Bob was a recruiter responsible for the interviewing and hiring of hourly engineering employees.
Born in Tottenville, Staten Island, New York, he grew up in Keyport before enlisting in the Navy after graduating from high school. He was Methodist.
His wife, Janice, predeceased him in 1992.
Surviving are his daughter, Debbie Bitterman, and son-in-law Jack; his son, Dennis, and daughter-in-law Kristina; and his grandchildren, Kaley and Shawn, all of Belle Isle, Florida.
Bob was very proud of his entire family.
In accordance with Bob’s wishes, there will be no public service.
