EDISON– A Jersey City man has been charged in connection with the Jan. 10 robbery of a TD Bank branch on Oak Tree Road.
Police detectives charged Jerome J. Mack Jr., 31, with one count of robbery for the hold up at TD Bank branch at 2064 Oak Tree Road. Mack is being held on $75,000 bail at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center, North Brunswick.
“Closing this bank robbery case is a direct result of persistent efforts by our skilled detectives who did the necessary legwork in cooperation with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies,” said Police Chief Thomas Bryan.
Detective Sean Forker, from the police department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau, followed up on leads and developed information that led to Mack’s Feb. 3 arrest for the holdup, Chief Bryan said
Police said they believe Mack entered the bank around 1 p.m. on Jan. 10, handed a note demanding cash to a teller, then ran from the building after he was given an undisclosed amount of cash. Additional charges against Mack are pending the outcome of a continuing police investigation.
