Mary (O’Herron) Ziegler, 92, of Matawan passed away on Feb. 4 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.
She was born in Duncott, Pennsylvania, and worked as a classified mail clerk with the Fort Monmouth Army Postal Office for 30 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Pennsylvania and the Washington Engine Company Ladies Auxiliary of Matawan. She volunteered her time at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Ziegler. She is survived by her loving children, Merry Ann Ziegler Olshefskie and her husband, Carl, and Robert L. Ziegler and his wife, Barbara; her cherished grandchildren, Patricia Krietz and her husband, Joe, Melissa Adams and her husband, Mike, Owen Olshefskie and his wife, Melissa; Robert Ziegler and his wife, Jen, Daniel Ziegler and Michael Ziegler; her adored great-grandchildren, Rebekka Diehl, Jakob Haines, Joshua Krietz, Michael Adams, Katie Adams, Eli Olshefskie and Isabella Olskefskie; and her precious great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Dinh. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Funeral arrangements were made by Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. A Mass of Christian burial took place at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
