United States Air Force Airman Melainie C. Marrero graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Marrero is the daughter of Luis Marrero of Union; granddaughter of Ramona Marrero of Elizabeth; niece of Rosa Lowe of Manalapan, Elaine Barette of Houston, Texas, and Hilda Espinal of Linden; and cousin of Millie Mitti of Kissimmee, Fla. Marrero is a 2013 graduate of Union High School, Union.
