LAWRENCE — A Trenton man faces multiple charges after he broke a glass window and entered Larry’s Wine and Spirits on Brunswick Avenue shortly after midnight on March 8, according to the Lawrence Township Police Department.
Eduardo Lozada, 39, of Trenton, was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. He took an assortment of “airplane”-sized liquor bottles, cigarette packs, loose change and lottery tickets valued at a combined $744.36.
Police received a call from a witness who reported hearing glass breaking and also saw a man go into the store through a broken window. When police arrived, they found Mr. Lozada inside the liquor store, hiding behind a cooler.
Police officers ordered him to show his hands and eventually he obeyed their commands. After officers cleared the broken glass from the window, Mr. Lozada walked toward the opening and was taken into custody.
Mr. Lozada was taken to police headquarters, and found to have outstanding warrants for $2,500 from the City of Trenton and $250 from Hamilton Township. He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center and later released.
