The East Brunswick Public School District Community Programs Department will offer its Early Learning Academy Preschool classes for the 2016-17 school year. The parent-pay, tuition-based program is open to 3- and 4-year-old children residing in East Brunswick. To be eligible, youngsters must be age 3 by Oct. 31, 2016, and not age-eligible for kindergarten (age 5 by Oct. 31). Participants must be toilet trained.
The curriculum design and implementation is based on the New Jersey Department of Education’s Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards and the Preschool Implementation Guidelines. Certified supervisors with expertise in the field of early childhood and school readiness oversee the planning and preparation for the program. Lead instructors are certified teachers.
The program provides parents the opportunity to register their child for a five-day-a-week developmentally appropriate learning experience within the school district. Half-day (morning or afternoon), midday extension and full-day programs (including early-morning and/or afterschool care) are available. Location is determined based on student enrollment and room availability. Transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
In-person registration will be held 9 a.m.-6 p.m. April 5 in the board room at the East Brunswick Public Schools Administration Building, 760 Route 18. After that date, registration will be accepted on an ongoing basis 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the administration building’s Financial Services Office, Suite 109. A nonrefundable registration fee plus the first month’s tuition must be presented at time of registration.
