Another big loss is coming to the Twin Rivers library. Nancy Demme who has worked for the Mercer County Library System for more than 25 years, almost 24 of those years as the children’s librarian at The Twin River’s Branch, will be retiring on April 1,2016.
As the mother of two children who are now 25 and 22, I have to let you know what a tremendous loss this will be to the parents and children of Twin Rivers. I first met Nancy when my son was barely 2 and my daughter wasn’t even born yet and “Miss Nancy“ became an important part of our lives. Storytime, Bookplay, Toddler time and then Kid’s Craft weekly until my youngest was too old to go, not to mention all the special programs for kids over the years. She remained important in my kids’ lives by helping with research projects, finding books and just keeping up with how they were doing whenever they went to the library over the years. We will miss her and no one else can truly replace her. The kids have always been her life. From all the mothers of Twin Rivers too numerous to mention, fathers and children too, All the people you have worked with and all the patrons you’ve helped and befriended over the years, but most especially from my family to you, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we wish you a wonderful fun filled retirement and best wishes for whatever your future holds.
