Therapy group that uses horses holds fundraiser
Sat., March 19 — Horses are helping trauma survivors in New Jersey find present moment, rebuild trust and establish personal coping skills — without having to “talk about it “ and without any riding or mounted work. Veterans, at-risk teens and young children suffering bereavement all find solace with a herd of horses in Hillsborough.
The Hillsborough-based nonprofit Spring Reins of Life will raise funds for the Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy group therapy sessions for moderate at Comedy & Dessert night from 7-10 p.m. at the Flemington Elks Lodge, Route 31. Featured stand-up comic is Mark Riccadonna will be joined by Sean Lynch, Teddy Daniels and Ritu Chandra. Cash bar, light fare snacks, desserts. Tickets are $35 with the option to add additional donation.
Learn networking tips at job seekers program
Thurs., March 24 — Elise Prezant, career counselor at Jewish Family Service, will lead a free program on “The Basics of Networking” for the Job Seekers Support Group from 10 a.m. to noon at the Family Success Center, 87 Park Ave., Flemington.

Garden club will hear how to grow, use lavender
Thurs., March 24 — Marie Voorhees from Hidden Spring Lavender Farm in Skillman will talk to the Neshanic Garden Club’s monthly meeting about growing lavender and its therapeutic uses. The meeting begins at 9:45 a.m. at the Station House on Olive Street, Neshanic Station. In the spring tours of the lavender farm are offered at $10 per person. There is also a gift shop.

Rotary Club schedules its 8th annual egg hunt
Sat., March 26 — Free 8th annual Rotary Club egg hunt at The Landing restaurant, Amwell Road. Hunting in three age groups begins at 10 a.m. sharp for ages 8 and younger. Bring your own baskets. Church’s hunt features more than 5,000 eggs
Sat., March 26 — A free Easter egg hunt with more than 5,000 eggs will be held from 9:45 a.m.-noon at Montgomery Evangelical Free Church, 246 Belle Mead-Griggstown Road, Belle Mead. Children ages 12 months to 9 years may hunt, as well as special needs children. Project Graduation seeks advertisers for program
Sat., April 2 — Hillsborough High School Project Graduation looking for advertisers and sponsors for its annual basket auction and fashion show, which will be held in the Hillsborough High School auditorium at 7:30 p.m. The group is trying to raise the $40,000 needed to help the Class of 2016 to celebrate their graduation drug- and alcohol-free following commencement ceremonies in June.
Appraiser will judge if it’s ‘trash’ or ‘treasure’

Wed., April 6 — Career counselor Lloyd Feinstein of Career Marketing Consultants will talk from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jewish Family Services, 150-A West High St., Somerville, to job seekers who are unemployed, underemployed or seeking a career change.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church holds a Slavic dinner
