Janssen Pharmaceutical security detained a man MArch 10 on their property who was later charged with taking coins from a nearby roadside farm stand.
Hopewell Township Officer Joseph McNeil was dispatched to Janssen at 2:10 a.m. The man, identified as Steven T. Maione from Valley View Road, Hamilton, was not an employee and was not supposed to be on the property, security said.
Police found Mr. Maione to have several rolls of coins on him. Upon investigation, police believe he burglarized the Kerr Ridge Farm roadside stand.
He was taken to headquarters, where he was charged with burglary and theft. He was committed in default of bail to the Mercer County Correction Center. His case will be forwarded to the county prosecutor’s office.
