Henson won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series — Drama. Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) is the king of hip-hop and CEO of Empire Entertainment. After what he believed to be a terminal disease, Lucious challenged his sons Jamal (Jussie Smollett), Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) and Andre (Trai Byers) to compete for his throne. This task was complicated by the return of their mother and Lucious’ ex-wife, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson). Season two picks up three months after Lucious’ shocking arrest.
Music superstars Cam, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and Florida Georgia Line will perform on the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards. The ceremony, co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley, will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3 at 8 p.m. on the CBS Television Network. Eric Church and Chris Stapleton lead with five nominations each, followed by Cam, Chris Young and Little Big Town each receiving four. Chris Janson, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett have each received three nominations.
