Memorial Day may seem like it’s many weeks away, but Edison is already making preparations for the town’s 54th Annual Parade honoring America’s fallen heroes, and it is now seeking enthusiastic participants.
Edison would like participation from: veteran organizations, reserve units, civic and community groups, youth groups, dancing schools, marching bands, school and youth sports organizations, bagpipers, choirs, police and fire organizations, volunteer fire companies, first aid squads, and area businesses.
The Memorial Day Parade will be held at noon on May 29, starting in the Stelton section, at Division Street near the Main Library. The parade will travel up Plainfield Avenue to Jefferson Boulevard where refreshments will be provided at the American Legion Father & Son Post 435 on Oakland Ave.
Once again, the parade will feature its popular “Most Patriotic” Bicycle Decorating Contest for youngsters. Interested participants should contact Dana Ligato-Grego at 732-248-7298 or [email protected].
