“It takes the combined efforts of citizens, volunteers, neighbors, and families working side by side to make a difference in cleaning up our water,” said Mike Pisauro, policy director for the watershed association. “Our wonderful volunteers take a few hours to connect with these local places and protect them.”
In 2015, more than 400 volunteers from 11 different towns gathered and disposed 7,759 pounds of trash.
Earth Day is Friday, April 22.
To volunteer, come to one of the locations or contact Mr. Pisauro at 609-737-3735, ext. 18, or [email protected].
Volunteers should wear boots, long sleeves, gloves and bring a water bottle. Rain gear is encouraged for inclement weather, but the work will go on rain or shine. T-shirts are provided, as well as water and snacks. To learn more, visit www.thewatershed.org.
The watershed association thanks Bloomberg, Clean Communities, American Rivers, and Aztec Graphics for their support in 10 years of Earth Day stream cleanups.
