On Thursday, March 17, Cub Scout Pack 289 officially crossed over six of their Scouts from Cub Scouting to Boy Scouting during the monthly pack meeting at Triangle Elementary School.
Fellow Scouts, family, friends, and members of Boy Scout Troop 89 were present to participate in the formal “cross over” ceremony.
Scouts were reminded of all the values and skills they learned as Cub Scouts, then promised to continue to live by the Scout Oath and the Scout Law as Boy Scouts.
After crossing a symbolic wooden bridge, they were met by Boy Scouts from their new troop and were presented with a Boy Scout neckerchief, formalizing their transition.
Anyone interested in joining Cub Scouting can find a local unit near them by going to www.beascout.org.
