The South Brunswick Office on Aging will hold the following programs for township residents age 55 and older at the South Brunswick Senior Center, located in the Municipal Complex, Route 522, Monmouth Junction:
Movies will be shown at 12:30 p.m.: “Everest” on April 7, “Steve Jobs” on April 22 and “Suffragette” on April 26.
Artist and historian Maurice Mahler will offer a lecture on Rembrandt at 12:30 p.m. April 15.
Coloring for Adults is set for 12:15-1:30 p.m. April 19.
Seniors are invited to the “Senior Citizen I Love” essay contest recognition ceremony at 12:30 p.m. April 14. Second graders throughout the township have submitted essays about a special senior in their life. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges from the Senior Center and honored at the ceremony.
A lecture entitled “Information For Life” is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. April 28. Presented by Connie Roberson of Oasis Senior Advisors and Dawne Simon Ponte, elder care attorney, the discussion will focus on tips and ideas on how to deal with vital records, insurances, accessing and storage of important documents and health and elder law issues.
AARP will offer a one-day safe driving course from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 27. Participants may be eligible to receive an insurance discount upon completing the course. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-AARP members. Checks made payable to AARP will be accepted; no cash.
South Brunswick Library staff members will offer lessons on using the Apple iPad, Apple iPhone and Android phones from 10:45 a.m.-noon every Thursday at the South Brunswick Senior Center iPad Station.
