Edward M. O’Mara, Sr., 86, Edward M. O’Mara, Sr., 86, of Skillman, passed away on March 14, 2016 at Stonebridge at Montgomery, after a long, hard-fought battle with prostate cancer. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, Mr. O’Mara previously resided in Parsippany and West Windsor for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He attended and graduated from Fordham University and received his MBA from the Stern School of Business of New York University. He retired from Union Camp Corporation, Wayne NJ in 1996, where he was in sales and marketing. Mr. O’Mara was a member of St. David the King Catholic Church, Princeton Junction, NJ, where he served as a communicant and as a member of the choir. Ed also enjoyed participating in civic organizations, and following college basketball and his beloved New York Yankees. His fondest childhood memory was being a member of the West Brighton Cubs and appearing on the NBC Radio to appear on the Babe Ruth radio program in 1943 and 1944. Predeceased by his parents, Edward Romaine and Mary Catherine (Daly), he is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marie; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Peggy O’Mara of Rose Valley, PA and their children and grandchildren; sister, Marie O’Mara of Wallingford, PA; son and daughter-in-law Edward and Neeta (Bahal) O’Mara of Skillman, NJ; daughter Lynne Makrina O’Mara; and grandchildren Theodore and Michael Tkaczevski, and Sean, Evan and Neena O’Mara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11:30 am at St. David the King R.C. Church, 1 New Village Road, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550. Family and friends may call on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 10 to 11 am at the church. A reception will follow the Mass. Interment will follow at a later date at Brigadier General William C.
