Thomas W. Kelly II, 72 Thomas W. Kelly II, 72, of Hopewell Township passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Capital Health System – Hopewell, with his family by his side. Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong resident of Mercer County. Mr. Kelly graduated from Steinert High School and attended the US Naval Academy. Before retiring, he was a sales manager for Jos. T. Fewkes in Marlton. He was a member of Trenton Elks Lodge 105 and American Legion Post 314; life member of the NJ State Fireman’s Association, and the Naval Academy Alumni Association. Mr. Kelly was a trustee and officer of the Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad, Titusville. He was involved in youth sports, refereeing Hopewell high school and league soccer, as well as participating in the Hopewell Valley Baseball/Softball Association for over 20 years, which dedicated Kelly Field in his honor in 1995. He was a fisherman, an avid collector of stamps and postcards, and a dedicated fan of Philadelphia sports teams. Son of the late William V. and Virginia Mack Kelly, brother of the late Maureen Hess and Gerald Kelly, he is survived by his wife, Judith; sons and daughters-in-law Matthew and Anne Kelly, Roderick and Alicia Nayfield, Timothy Nayfield and fiancée Christina Kaiser, Daniel Nayfield, and Peter Kelly; and his daughters and son-in law Dr. Colleen Kelly and Dr. Stuart Braun, and Wendy Kelly; his former wife Susan Kelly; as well as 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were under the directions of M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing, NJ 08618. A private burial will be at a later date.
