The South Brunswick Athletic Association will hold a free Scotts Major League Baseball Pitch Hit & Run competition, 9-11 a.m., April 24, at Rowland Park, Fields 2 and 3, 235 Broadway Road, Cranbury.
This official skills competition of Major League Baseball is a grassroots program designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball and softball skills.
Boys and girls will be divided into ages 7/8, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14 and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition. The individual pitching, hitting and running champions, along with the all-around champion in each age group, will be awarded the chance to advance to the sectional competition. Winners may advance to the Team Championships at Major League ballparks and at the National Finals at the 2016 MLB All-Star Game.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certification and have their parent or guardian fill out a registration form prior to the start of the competition.
