Rita Langer, 89 Rita Langer, 89, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was one of only three women to graduate from the Engineering program of the City College of New York, class of 1948. Mrs. Langer worked for over 30 years as a Civil Engineer for the City of New York and was a resident of Massapequa, NY from 1956 until 2014 before moving to Monroe Village, NJ. Predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Leon Langer, her parents, A. Herbert and Mary Lerman Frank, and a brother, Arthur Frank, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Corey and Mindy Langer of Princeton Junction, NJ, and Glen and Jennifer Langer of Commack, NY, and five grandchildren, Adina (Matthew), Micah, Alex, Stephanie, Leigh Ann, and a great-grandson, Leo, as well as many devoted nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Wednesday 12PM April 6 at the Star of David Memorial Chapel, 1240 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY. Burial will follow at Mount Ararat Cemetery, Lindenhurst, NY. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Corey and Mindy Langer from Thursday April 7 through Saturday April 9. Memorial contributions are respectfully requested to Planned Parenthood.
