Hopewell Valley schools have been recognized for their music education by the nonprofit National Association of Music Merchants Foundation.
The district is one of 476 school districts in the country recognized as among the “Best Communities for Music Education.”
This is the eighth straight year that the Hopewell Valley Regional School District has won this award. The district music program provides opportunities to more than 3,500 students in kindergarten through 12th grades.
“This latest commendation of our district music program is a testament to the true value and priority that our community at large — school officials, teachers, staff — puts on the importance of a well balanced and comprehensive arts program,” said Peter J. Griffin, supervisor of visual and performing arts. “Most importantly, this accolade is a validation of the great kids we have here in Hopewell Valley. They are truly the best and have been for a while now.”
The foundation advances active participation in music making by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs. For information about the NAMM Foundation, visitwww.nammfoundation.org.
“This reward demonstrates an unwavering commitment by the Hopewell Valley Board of Education and the entire Hopewell Valley school community to provide a comprehensive music education for all students,” said Thomas Smith, superintendent of schools. “We are excited that our staff has been recognized for their hard work and dedication.”
