LAWRENCE — A 26-year-old Notre Dame High School teacher has been charged with one count of criminal sexual contact and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri and Police Chief Mark Ubry.
The parochial school teacher, Edmund J. Harman, was arrested at his home in Franklin Township Monday afternoon, following a joint investigation by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit and the Lawrence Township Police Department. Bail was set at $150,000.
The incident occurred when a Notre Dame High School student went into school early to meet Mr. Harman in his classroom for extra credit in February.
During that time, Mr. Harman allegedly fondled her breasts, kissed the back of her neck and massaged her back and legs. He allegedly told the student to send him naked photographs of herself.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Ahmad Mansur at 609-989-6568 or Lawrence police Detective Todd Caruso at 609-896-1111.
