Alexis Janoczkin of Freehold was named to the President’s List for the 2015 fall semester at Campbell University, Buies Creek, North Carolina. Alexis, who is the daughter of Donna Swenticky, is a biology major. She is a graduate of Freehold Twp High School.

Emma Iavaroni, the daughter of Bill and Jeryl Iavaroni of Freehold Township, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2015 fall semester at the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland. Emma is a student in the university’s College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. She is a 2014 graduate of Freehold High School, Freehold Borough.

James Davis of Manalapan recently graduated from Pacific University, Forest Grove, Oregon, with a master’s degree in teaching.

Cierra Florentina Clark, daughter of Michael and Minelva Clark of Freehold, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2015 fall semester at Brookdale Community College. Cierra is majoring in psychology. She is a graduate of Freehold Township High School.

Brookdale Community College student and Howell resident Sameerah Wahab has been named one of the top 20 two-year college students in the nation as a member of the 2016 All-USA Community College Academic Team. Sameerah, 19, will receive a $5,000 scholarship and was recognized with her fellow team members during the American Association of Community Colleges national convention in Chicago in April. Sameerah is a biology major and was nominated for her work as an officer with the Brookdale chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa international honor society. She also serves as a peer mentor in the Brookdale honors program and is a member of the college’s Students for Global Citizenship club.

Sarah Bechay, a doctor of pharmacy student from Morganville, was among the newest members from University of the Sciences, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, inducted into the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy Alpha Tau Chapter of Rho Chi, the Academic Honor Society in Pharmacy. The Rho Chi honor society recognizes and encourages academic excellence.

Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, recently announced the winners of its annual wedding cake competition, with the top prize going to a cake designed by Amanda R. D’Apuzzo of Morganville and topped by a hand-molded “glass” slipper. Amanda is pursuing a degree in baking and pastry arts from the college. She is one of 15 Penn College students who competed. All are enrolled in an advanced cake decorating course taught by Chef Todd M. Keeley, instructor of baking and pastry arts/culinary arts. The top four cakes traveled to the Atlantic Bakery Expo in Atlantic City, where they competed in the Cake Decorating Extravaganza.

Michael Dworzak of Howell was among more than 140 students recognized by Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pennsylvania, for making an impact on the campus as a new student. The Celebration of Student Success reception honored the students’ achievements. Michael is a graduate of Howell High School and is pursuing a bachelor of science in chemistry in ACS chemistry. The honorees were nominated by faculty and administrators for standing out in the classroom, in their work with classmates, as student leaders, in on-campus employment, or in extracurricular activities such as athletics, performance, or volunteerism.

Brennah Chirumbole of Freehold, a television-radio student in Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications, Ithaca, New York, has been inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the national communication honor society.

Delaware Valley University, Doylestown, Pennsylvania, announced that Breanna Almeida of Howell was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society during the spring 2016 semester. Alpha Lambda Delta encourages superior scholastic achievement among first-year students.
