HOPEWELL: Alleged repeat DWI offender is charged

An alleged repeat drunk-driving offender was arrested and charged March 27 at 10:28 p.m.
Hopewell Township Officer Mark Panzano stopped a 2008 GMC on Route 31 for driving in an alleged careless manner. The driver was identified as Guy M. Walker, 48, of Kuhl Road, Raritan Township, and the officer said he smelled alcohol on Mr. Walker’s breath.
After roadside sobriety testing Mr. Walker was placed under arrest for DWI. He was taken to headquarters and charged before being released to a family member. He was charged with DWI, reckless driving, driving while suspended, driving while suspended for a previous DWI and failure to install a court-ordered interlock device.

— On April 4 at 9:28 a.m. Officer Nicholas Sparaco stopped a 2006 Mercury because the driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt. While speaking with a man, identified as Gary Z. Whitehouse Jr., 45, of Anderson Road, Raritan, in the car, he was found to have a warrant out for his arrest for a probation violation in Hunterdon County. He was placed under arrest and taken to headquarters, where he was turned over to detectives from the Hunterdon Sheriff’s Office.
– On March 31 at 4:43 p.m. Officer George Peterson stopped a 2004 Acura after performing a random computer inquiry on his in-car computer and finding that the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended license and the driver matched the basic description of the registered owner.
The driver was confirmed as the owner and identified as Tiffany M. Thompson, 35, of Corcoran Street, Flemington. Warrants for her arrest were found from Hopewell Township and Pennington Borough. She was also allegedly found in possession of heroin and hypodermic needles. She was placed under arrest and taken to headquarters, where she posted bail, and ultimately was turned over to the Pennington Police Department.
– On April 5 at 9:41 a.m. Officer Vincent Amabile stopped a box truck on Bear Tavern Road for being overweight on a restricted road. While speaking with the driver, who was identified as Michael D. Hammond, 24, of Federal Street, Camden, a warrant for his arrest from Pennsauken was located. He was placed under arrest, and later released at headquarters. His case will be heard in municipal court.
– On April 6 at 12:14 a.m. Officer Robert Voorhees stopped a 2001 Saab on Interstate 95 at Route 31 for having an expired registration. While speaking with the driver, who was identified as Monica L. Williams, 46, of Sykes Avenue, Hamilton, warrants for her arrest from Lawrence Township were located. She was placed under arrest and transported to Lawrence Police after being cited for driving while suspended, driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle and failing to provide documents.
– On April 7 at 5:21 p.m. Officer Mandy Grey stopped a car on Reed Road for having inoperable brake lamps. A Hopewell Township warrant was found for the driver, Angela A. Burdick, 24, of Bunting Avenue, Trenton. She was placed under arrest, taken to headquarters and ultimately released after posting bail and being cited for the brake lamp. 
