HOPE4SPANDANA is hosting a fund-raiser for underprivileged children with autism on April 22, 6-9:30 p.m. at JP Stevens High School, 855 Grove Ave., Edison. The event, “Hollywood/Bollywood Blowout,” will feature music and dance performances by various groups and ensembles. The fund-raiser is open to the public. Cost is $10 for children and $15, $20 or $25 for adults.
HOPE4SPANDANA is a nonprofit charitable organization, dedicated to spreading awareness and raising funds for children diagnosed with autism in the United States and India. The organization is run by high school and middle school children from various schools in New jersey. It is affiliated with St. Peter’s University Hospital, which uses its funds for research, care and family support for autism. The group has also adopted two schools in India where there are more than 70 children diagnosed with autism; these children were all abandoned by their families. Funds raised by HOPE4SPANDANA are used for better therapy, food, care and shelter.
