PRINCETON: Technical difficulties prevent Witherspoon Middle School students from finishing PARCC tests

By Philip Sean Curran, Staff Writer
Unspecified “technological issues” were blamed for why John Witherspoon Middle School was unable to finish the computer-based state standardized tests on Wednesday.
School Principal Jason Burr, writing to parents in an email that the Princeton Packet obtained, said the problems were occurring “locally and around the state.” Students this week are taking the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers exams.
“We are working internally to create a schedule for the rest of the week that will allow us to complete the testing and fulfill this obligation, while remaining loyal to staff and students’ needs,” Mr. Burr wrote to parents. “Due to this unforeseen technological circumstance, JW will be forced to extend testing into Monday.”
He said the school would “seek to resume testing on Thursday.”
