CBS‘ award winning drama series The Good Wife will end its seven year story the show’s creators envisioned when the series finale airs on Sunday, May 8 at 9 p.m. Julianna Margulies has lead a powerful cast, playing the role of Alicia Florrick, a disgraced wife who returned to work as a lawyer after her husband was imprisoned following a scandal. At one point, she runs for State’s Attorney, the position once held by her husband. However, she was forced to step down from that office when voter fraud threatened the Democratic party in the state of Illinois. The series has garnered many recognitions, including five Emmy and three Golden Globe nominations, along with the Television Critics Award for Outstanding Achievement in Drama. That same Sunday evening, CBS will also air the season finales of Madam Secretary at 8 p.m. and Elementary at 10 p.m.
Showtime will air the season three premiere of its psychological thriller Penny Dreadful on Sunday, May 1 at 10 p.m. This season, Tony Award-winner Patti LuPone will return as a series regular in the new role of Dr. Seward, an American therapist who treats Vanessa (Eva Green) with an unconventional new approach.
USA Network’s new competition series First Impressions will premiere Tuesday, May 10 at 10:30 p.m. Hosted by Freddy Prinze Jr. and featuring Emmy Award-winning and SNL alum Dana Carvey, the show gives up-and-coming impressionists a unique opportunity to share their skills. The series will include an all-star celebrity line-up to cheer-on the contestants.
Maron will return to IFC for its season 4 premiere on Wednesday, May 4 with back-to-back episodes at 9 and 9:30 p.m. Marc Maron’s fictional alter ego is addicted, conflicted and evicted in the season premiere.
