Monmouth Arts will sneak peek the film “Maggie’s Plan” at 7:30 p.m. May 19 at Bow Tie Cinemas, 36 White St., Red Bank, courtesy of Tom Bernard, co-chair of Sony Pictures Classics.

A reception featuring Peruvian cuisine will take place from 5:45-7:15 p.m. at Monmouth ArtSpace, 105 Monmouth St.

The film stars Greta Gerwig, Ethan Hawke, Bill Hader, Maya Rudoph, Travis Fimmel and Julianne Moore. Directed by Rebecca Miller, the romantic comedy portrays Maggie Hardin as a vibrant and practical 30-something New Yorker working in education.

With help from Maggie’s eccentric friends, she sets in motion a new plan that intertwines their lives and connects them in surprising and humorous ways.
