The New Jersey Institute for Disabilities’ Eighth Annual Marion and Norman Tanzman Charitable Foundation Lakeview 5K is scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. on June 4 in Roosevelt Park, Edison. Check in for the race is at 8am.
The Lakeview 5K is a Grand Prix-sanctioned course along scenic park roads starting and finishing in front of Roosevelt Lake. The event also features a 5K Walk and Family Fun Walk and Stroll which is self-paced around the lake. Individuals, families and teams are encouraged to register and support the Lakeview 5K. Free online registration is available at www.raceforum.com/Lakeview-5K. Teams are prominently acknowledged on race day.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for families and the community to come together to raise funds to benefit the children and adults who find help and hope at NJID,” said Venus Majeski, director of Development and Community Relations. “We invite everyone to join us and take part in the fun!”
Participants receive a commemorative t-shirt (guaranteed with preregistration), finish line reception, raffles and refreshments. More than a dozen vendors participate in the festivities and there will be a pre-race Zumba warmup. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in nine separate age groups as well as the top three male and female finishers.
