ALLENTOWN – Four adults and one juvenile were arrested and charged with drug and firearms violations after Allentown police officers executed a search warrant at a borough home.
Allentown Police Department Patrolman Anthony Rando said officers searched a Hamilton Street home at 8:30 a.m. April 7.
Rando said the search of the home was authorized by a judge after officers responded to a previous incident at the house. During that incident, one officer observed firearms in the residence and that led to an investigation because “a certain person [was] not to possess a firearm,” Rando said.
Specific information regarding the previous incident was not disclosed by police because it dealt with an unrelated domestic violence and disturbance call several days prior to the April 7 search.
Rando said officers who searched the home on April 7 found substances believed to be heroin, cocaine and marijuana.
He said they also found multiple firearms, including a Ruger .22 caliber AR-15-style assault rifle with a collapsable stock, a pistol grip and a flash suppressor affixed to the barrel, and high-capacity magazines.
In executing the search warrant, police officers arrested Frederick A. Bush, 50, Desmond Bush, 23, John-Michael Bush, 21, Frederick A. Bush II, 18, and a juvenile. Police did not provide the juvenile’s gender or age.
Frederick A. Bush was charged with three counts of certain persons not to possess a firearm.
Frederick A. Bush II was charged with possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute.
John-Michael Bush was charged with possession of an assault firearm, possession of a high capacity magazine, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three men were placed in the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township. Frederick A. Bush and John-Michael Bush were held in lieu of $75,000 bail each. Frederick A. Bush II was held in lieu of $25,000 bail, according to police.
Desmond Bush was charged with possession of heroin, possession of less than 50 grams of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rando said Bush was released on his own recognizance.
The juvenile was charged with possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
