The Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison, announces Current Events will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. May 6, 13, 20, 27, and June 3, 10. Presenter Robert Galante will address breaking news in the world and the United States, politics of the day, business, arts, sports, religion and specific issues that give life historical meaning and social purpose. He will offer insights covering these areas, present pros and cons, and importantly encourage frank, open dialogue with the participants.
Galante, a graduate from Franklin and Marshall College with a BA in Government and French, also earned a Masters of Arts degree in teaching social studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is recognized for his work as an educator, including Rumson Teacher of the Year, Princeton University prize for Distinguished Secondary School Teaching, academic kudos from the University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins, and was awarded two scholarships by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
