Police said Friday they have seized more than $400,000 in heroin and $24,000 in marijuana plants.
Luis Carreon, 27, of Park Street in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, was charged Wednesday with intending to distribute controlled dangerous substance drugs.
Mr. Carreon reportedly jumped from the third story roof of his home when members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force and the Franklin Township Police Department executed a search warrant at 9 p.m. He was apprehended.
Police said a search of the residence resulted in the seizure of 1,064 folds of heroin, a plastic bag containing about eight pounds of heroin, eight marijuana plants and $1,570 in cash.
Mr. Carreon was charged with maintaining a CDS production facility, a 1st-degree crime, possession with the intent to distribute heroin, a 1st-degree crime; possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, 3rd degree; resisting arrest by flight, 4th degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.
The seized heroin has an approximate street value of $410,640, and the seized marijuana plants have an approximate street value of $24,000, authorities said.
Mr. Luis Carreon was lodged in the Somerset County Jail.
