Free training in how to administer Narcan to reverse a heroin/opioid overdose is planned for 7 p.m. May 19 in meeting room 3 at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.
The training, which is co-sponsored by the East Brunswick Municipal Alliance, is open to any individual who is at risk or whose family or friends are at risk of an opioid overdose. All eligible participants will receive a free Narcan (naloxone) kit. Education will be provided on how to administer Narcan to reverse a heroin/opioid overdose. Admission will be limited to the first 30 individuals who register.
The Opioid Overdose Prevention Project is made possible by funding received from the New Jersey Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and JSAS HealthCare, in collaboration with Barnabas Health Institute for Prevention.
