MILLTOWN — Ariella Hopkins Day will honor a six year old girl who passed away last June from a sudden illness.
With the help of family and friends, Ariella’s name is being kept alive through an event at Borough Park and the American Legion Joyce Kilmer Post 25 Pavilion on May 14, which Bobby Hopkins said is all he and his wife, Lisa, could ask for in their time of mourning and remembrance of their daughter.
Hopkins said Ariella Hopkins Day will be held from noon to 7 p.m. and will be filled with family fun activities.
“There will be a lot of kid activities from a bounce house, face painting and an Ariella cupcake tent,” he said.
Hopkins said the day will also include art activities, making tie dye shirts, assistance from the Girls Scouts of Milltown, a deejay, two live bands, musician Mr. Ray, Star Wars characters, karate and gymnastic demonstrations as well as a barbeque and a pig roast.
Tickets for the day are $15 and can be purchased at the event. There will be a 50/50 basket raffle.
Hopkins said they have sold over 500 tickets already. All proceeds will go towards a scholarship in Ariella’s name to St. Bartholomew School in East Brunswick where Ariella graduated from Kindergarten and towards veterans.
