Fred M. Janiec, 85 of Cranbury, died on Monday May 9, 2016 at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. Fred was born and raised in Bayonne. He lived in Edison for many years before moving to Cranbury in 2003. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a quality control inspector for American Can/Teledyne Adams in Hillside and took an early retirement to begin a second career in the family nursery business, including growing and caring for trees. He took pride in a portion of his career at Teledyne Adams Co. in dealings with the NASA space program. Fred was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Above all else he was a true family man and a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Fred was preceded in death by his son Freddie Janiec (2013) and his brother Frank Janiec.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Florence B. (Donnelly) Janiec and his son Mark G. Janiec and his wife Karen, all of Cranbury, his daughter Deborah A. LiSanti and her husband Patric of Monroe Twp., three sisters: Felicia Nixon and her husband Tom of Sun City, FL, Jean McGarvey of Toms River and Irene Burns of Spring Lake, one sister-in-law Josephine Janiec of Hillsborough and five grandchildren: Michelle, Stephen, Nicole, Travis and Teddy.
Visitation will be 4-7pm on Thursday May 12, 2016 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555 – www.demarcofuneralhome.com. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Friday May 13, 2016 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am on Friday at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – 185 Applegarth Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum – South Brunswick.
