LAWRENCE: Trenton man facing heroin charges

LAWRENCE — A 34-year-old Trenton man faces multiple drug-related charges after 30 packets of heroin were found inside his shoe when the car in which he was riding was stopped by police for failure to maintain its lane on Brunswick Pike at 1:18 a.m. May 8, according to police Lt. Joseph Amodio.
Raheem Perry was charged with manufacturing, distributing or dispensing a controlled dangerous substance, and distribution or possession of a controlled dangerous substance near public property, Lt. Amodio said.
Mr. Perry was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance; possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance to a police officer, Lt. Amodio said.
Two women, who were in the car with Mr. Perry when it was stopped by police, were also charged, he said.
Velinda Hearns, 56, of Trenton, who was the driver, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, Lt. Amodio said.
Samantha Solomon, 34, of Trenton, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and hindering apprehension for giving police false information, Lt. Amodio said.
Mr. Perry and Ms. Solomon were taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center. He was being held on $50,000 bail with the 10-percent option, and she was being held on $5,000 bail with the 10-percent option. 
