The Hopewell Township Democratic Committee has endorsed Kristin McLaughlin and Michael Ruger for Hopewell Township Committee.
They will run unopposed in the June 7 primary.
“There are a number of issues facing Hopewell Township in the coming year,” said Ms. McLaughlin. “The PennEast pipeline, keeping spending under control and making sure residents who want to stay in the township can afford to do so are just a few we will need to address.”
“We also have to make sure Hopewell Township is protected not just for today, but for the future as well,” added Mr. Ruger.
Tuesday, May 17, is the last day to register to be able to vote on June 7.
Ms. McLaughlin has lived in the Willow Creek neighborhood since 2008 with her husband and three daughters. She is a community volunteer. She graduated with honors from Harvard College and has a master’s degree in elementary education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Mr. Ruger has lived in the Harbourton area with his wife, Tracy Vogler, since 1998. He is a graduate of Penn State, where he majored in political science and psychology, and the Georgetown University Law Center, for his law degree.
The couple has three children in the Hopewell Valley schools and two Labrador retrievers.
