Hopewell Township Officer Christopher Vaccarino was detailed to Dogs and Cats Rule animal wellness center on Denow Road on May 5 at 9:25 p.m. on a report of shoplifting.
The officer came on the suspect, who was identified as Joanne S. Sullivan, 58, of Harbourton-Rocktown Road, Hopewell, in the parking lot, police said. She was found with $425 worth of pet products in her possession and also marijuana and drug paraphernalia (rolling papers), police said.
She was taken to police headquarters, from where she was processed and released. Her case will be reviewed by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
