The Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County (JCCMC) will serve as the host to Jim DelGiudice, who will present “The United Nations Celebrates 70 Years” at 10:30 a.m., May 24, at 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison.
As the United Nations approaches its 70th birthday, it is time for its 193 members to look at its successes and shortfalls and consider which programs can be sustained. There have been eight secretary generals, and the next U.S. president will need to work with the ninth one. The success of that relationship will be another gauge of the institution’s importance and effectiveness in world affairs.
The cost is $8 for JCCMC members and $11 for nonmembers. For more information, contact Sue Horwitz, director of senior adult services at 732-494-3232, ext. 3603.
