EAST BRUNSWICK – Police are alleging that a man who fell asleep at the wheel also had drugs inside of his car.
Ptl. Daniel Werner initiated a motor vehicle stop around 11 p.m. on May 10 on Harts Lane near Tices Lane.
The driver, Mark Windsor, 27, of East Brunswick, had allegedly fallen asleep while stopped at the traffic signal. During the motor vehicle stop, Werner reportedly detected the odor of raw marijuana emanating from the vehicle and subsequently conducted a search of the vehicle.
During the search, Werner allegedly located more than 50 grams of marijuana, alprazolam and oxycodone pills and materials commonly used to package narcotics, according to information provided by the East Brunswick Police Department.
Windsor was also allegedly found to be under the influence of narcotics. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of controlled dangerous substances, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and controlled dangerous substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and motor vehicle summonses.
Windsor was processed and transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick in lieu of $10,000 bail.
