South Brunswick promotes police officer to sergeant

SOUTH BRUNSWICK — A 19-year veteran of the South Brunswick Police Department has been promoted to sergeant.

Tara Jairdullo was sworn into her new position on May 16.

She previously served in patrol, community policing and support services. She spent five years as the domestic violence liaison and reestablished the Domestic Violence Response Team, according a statement prepared by the South Brunswick Police Department. Jairdullo is also the coordinator of the newly recreated Citizen Police Academy.

“Tara has received 33 Letters of Commendation, many the result of her strong community policing efforts. Time and time again I hear from residents thanking Tara for her calm and professional handling of a case,” Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said.

Jairdullo holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from The College of New Jersey.

She is married to fellow South Brunswick Police Officer Robert Jairdullo. They have five children.
