VALLEY: Students graduate, make dean’s lists

Jennifer Liu of Hopewell was among the 1,744 students to whom Boston University awarded academic degrees in January. Jennifer received a Bachelor of Arts in economics and mathematics.

Oliver Pete Oshman of Pennington made the fall and spring semester dean’s lists at Wentworth Institute of Technology, located in Boston.

Meredith Megaffin of Hopewell is one of the nearly 4,800 candidates for degree from the University of Kansas this spring. She has earned a Master of Science in civil engineering. Degrees are officially conferred in June. KU’s 144th commencement was Sunday, May 15. More than 4,500 of the members of the Class of 2016 are expected to participate.

Astrid L. Hunter, a resident of Titusville, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2016 semester at Alfred (N.Y.) University. She is a sophomore in the School of Art and Design.
Students must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average to qualify for the list.
Astrid is an art and design major, a graduate of Hopewell Valley Central High School and the daughter of Richard and Nancy Hunter.

Allison DeCarlo of Pennington was among the University of Scranton (Pa.) students inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international honor society in economics. Allison is a senior majoring in international business in Spanish at the Jesuit university.
