• The Manalapan Seniors and Chapter 4 will sponsor a bus trip to a Trenton Thunder baseball game on Aug. 4. • Nancy Silberman, retired teacher of hearing impaired and multiply disabled students for more than 35 years, will discuss her personal experiences after receiving a cochlear implant two years ago, and her future prognosis, at the June 5 meeting of the Ocean-Monmouth Hearing Loss Support Group at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan. The meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend and all are invited. A cochlear implant is a surgically implanted electronic device that provides a sense of sound to a person who is profoundly deaf or severely hard of hearing.
• On June 4 the Reformed Church of Freehold will hold a yard sale form 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 67 W. Main St., Freehold Borough. There will be household items, clothes, baked goods, furniture, yard items and more. All money raised will go to charities supported by the Reformed Church Women.
• Kids 4 Camp will hold a 5K fun run, walk and dash at 9 a.m. June 5 at the Manalapan Recreation Center 5K Fitness Trail. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The event will raise money for camp scholarships for the Manalapan Recreation summer camp. There will be a 1-mile run for children. • Embroiderers’ Guild of America-Monmouth Chapter is dedicated to teaching and sharing the joys of needlework. Stitchers of all levels are welcome to attend a meeting. • On June 16 from 10:30-11:30 a.m., members of the public are invited to the grand opening celebration of Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVCJ) in Monmouth County.
