The following events will be held for South Brunswick resident members age 55 and older at the Office on Aging’s South Brunswick Senior Center, located in the Municipal Complex, Route 522, Monmouth Junction.
Free movie days include “Spotlight” at 12:30 p.m., the newest Bollywood release at 12:30 p.m. on June 14 and “The Intern” at 12:30 p.m. on June 28.
Maurice Mahler will discuss June’s featured artist, Jackson Pollock, at 12:30 p.m. June 17.
Coloring for Adults will be held from 12:15-1:30 p.m. on June 21.
A new session of Art with Christina begins July 18. The seven week course will take place from 1:30-3 p.m. Mondays. The cost is $27.
Beginner Chinese lessons will be held at 10:45 a.m. July 13, continuing for seven weeks. Learn basic vocabulary and travel words. The program is free but space is limited.
The Senior Center’s first cookie bake off will take place at 12:30 p.m. June 29. Attendees should bring a dozen home-baked cookies. Three judges will select the best tasting cookie. The winner will receive a $25 Visa gift certificate. To enter, sign up by June 15.
The N.J. Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired will hold an informative presentation at 10:45 a.m. on June 9. No registration is required.
The Funeral Consumers Alliance of Princeton non-profit organization will hold a lecture “Plan Ahead and Rest in Peace” from 12:30-1:30 p.m., June 30. The seminar will provide information on the funeral industry, how to save money, rights as a consumer and more. No registration is required.
Sgt. Gene Rickle of the South Brunswick Police Department will discuss how seniors can prolong safe driving and the warning signs that it may be time to stop driving at 12:30 p.m. on June 23.
