Dr. Irwin Kabus died May 17, 2016, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 85.
Born in Manhattan, New York, he resided there before moving to East Brunswick 51 years ago.
Prior to his retirement in 2014, he was chairman of the math department at Pace University for 20 years and taught at Rutgers University for another 12 years. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed playing bridge.
Dr. Kabus was predeceased by his son, David, in 2006.
Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Judith Cohen Kabus; children, Alan Kabus and his wife, Lisa, of Georgia; Robert Kabus and his wife, Sandy, of California; and Karen Jacobson-Bair and her husband, Bart, of San Diego; and four grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were arranged by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment followed at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus.
