Fashion workshops scheduled at library

Several programs that will appeal to aspiring fashionistas and seamstresses will be offered at the Old Bridge Public Library Main Branch, Route 516 and Cottrell Road. The American Sewing Guild (ASG) will present the workshops.

A program titled “How to Accessorize in the Summer: Easy Tips to Go From Beachwear to Dinner” is set for 2 p.m. June 25. Guest presenter Laura Rabuffo of Ralph Lauren will talk about the latest summer must-haves that allow women to easily transition from beachwear to an evening out. Guests should bring one or two scarves. The hands-on workshop will demonstrate different ways to tie scarves to pair with any summer outfit. A question-and-answer session will follow.

“Making a Long-Sleeve T-Shirt” is planned for 1-4 p.m. July 23. “Embellish Me!” will take place 1-4 p.m. Aug. 13.. Participants must bring a sewing machine, fabric and notions. The library also will continue its monthly drop-in sewing classes at 7 p.m. on select Monday evenings and its parent/child and teen/adult sewing classes on select Fridays and Saturdays. Additional details, schedules and registration information are available on the library website.
