AAUW Northern Monmouth County Branch has scheduled the annual end of the season used book sale from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on June 25 at Old First Church, Middletown.
Book sale chair, Vickie Mischenko, reports that a wide variety of books will be on the shelves and ready for sale. Choices range from children’s books to classics and from history to home and garden books. Biographies, art books, military history and science books as well as CD’s and DVD’s are available. On June 25, customers can fill a grocery bag with books for only $5 per bag. AAUW will provide the bags. The AAUW Used Book Sale will also be open June 18, with individual books on sale. The Used Book Sale will be closed for July and August and reopen in September.
AAUW has been making a difference in Monmouth County for more than 90 years. According to Ruth Hodum, AAUW development director, the funds raised by the Used Book Sale are used to support scholarships for women attending Brookdale Community College, Monmouth University and Douglas College at Rutgers University. These funds also support special STEM programs for middle school girls and leadership programs for high school and college women.
